IMost researchers and economists seem to agree that we are leaving the industrial way of "seeing" the world, but no-one can say with any certainty what will take its place. We have already stepped into a world in which services constitute more than 2/3 of both GNP and employment, which call for a shift in perspective or paradigm. Some label it as the Knowledge Paradigm (Sweiby) or call this the Knowledge Economy (Quinn 1992), or talk about a Knowledge Perspective. These form part of the guiding principles for the organizations which have already stepped into the Knowledge Era: the Knowledge Organizations.
